The AIMS: Address data table contains details relating to the creation and updating of an address including the version of an address and is part of the [AIMS: Street Address](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/4787/). Refer to the [NZ Addresses Data Dictionary](https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/24489) for detailed metadata and information about this dataset. --- **Background** This dataset provides all allocated addresses as advised to Toitū Te Whenua LINZ by Territorial Authorities (TAs). Under the Local Government Act 1974 (section 319) it is the responsibility of the TAs to advise the Surveyor-General at Toitū Te Whenua LINZ of all allocated addresses in their district. The dataset is maintained by Toitū Te Whenua LINZ in the Address Information Management System (AIMS) which is centralised database for the management of national addresses, including for electoral purposes. This dataset is updated weekly on the LINZ Data Service. For a simplified version of the data contained within these tables see [NZ Addresses](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/105689)

**Please read:** This table is part of the comprehensive [Full Landonline Dataset](https://data.linz.govt.nz/group/full-landonline-dataset/) and is designed for use only by data professionals who require the complex version of our property ownership and boundary data for advanced uses. ************************* This table contains detailed information about changes to Landonline coordinates, and how accurate they are. This can be combined with data in other tables to assess the likely reliability of coordinates by providing details of the adjustment date, connections to geodetic control and amount the coordinates changed by at each adjustment. Please refer to the [LDS Full Landonline Data Dictionary and Models](https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/11095) for detailed metadata about this table.

**In June 2014, LINZ moved the information from the Authoritative Streets and Places database (ASP) into Landonline and the ASP database is no longer maintained. ** ****************************************** This table contains names that refers to a geographic area, and that can be used in lieu of, or to localise or refine, a street address. A place record will exist for every name that is considered to fit this definition, including any alias or alternative names that also fit this definition. This table is part of the Authoritative Streets and Places (ASP) Database. For more information about the database including the data model see [here](http://www.linz.govt.nz/property-addressing/address-road-places-data). **Notes:** - Some reports generated from ASP require the PLACE_NAME+ LOCALITY+STATUS combination to be unique, so validation rules have been put in place to enforce this. - The locality names currently used in the PLACES table are not ideal, and are considered a work in progress. The main function of LOCALITY in ASP is to achieve uniqueness, and where 2 places of the same name exist, to be able to differentiate between them.

**Please read:** The AIMS: Address Position table is part of the [set of comprehensive AIMS Address tables](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/87). The Address Position table contains the point location of an address. An address can have multiple point positions. The Addresspositiontype describes the position E.g. centroid, set back from road. In the first instance the Landonline address position will be used the positioning of this is 'unknown'. Additional Address Position data may be captured over time. The comprehensive address dataset includes eight data tables and nine lookup tables. The dataset has been sourced from LINZ’s Address Information Management System (AIMS), a centralised database for the management of national addresses, including for electoral purposes. This set of normalised tables replaces the single Landonline: Street Address layer currently published on LDS. This layer contains information advised to LINZ by Territorial Authorities (TAs). [Under the Local Government Act 1974 (section 319)](http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1974/0066/latest/DLM420385.html) it is the responsibility of the TAs to advise LINZ (the Surveyor General) of all allocated addresses in their district. For a simplified version of the data contained within these tables see [NZ Street Address](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/3353). Please refer to the [Street Address Data Dictionary](https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/1627) for detailed metadata and information about this layer.

This pilot dataset provides more comprehensive national address data for New Zealand, incorporating previously missing addresses to our official address data. NZ Addresses (Pilot) comprises both [AIMS addresses](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/4787) and allocated addresses identified as missing from AIMS gathered from Territorial Authorities. To improve ease of use, this dataset also includes: - Official locality names from [NZ Localities - NZGB Compliant Names](https://data.linz.govt.nz/table/105353) - Territorial Authority association **Please note:** we are still working through a process of identifying missing addresses. NZ Addresses (Pilot) will continue to be populated with missing addresses as they are verified. [AIMS address set](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/4787) and the simplified version [NZ Street Address](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/53353) will continue to be updated by LINZ as normal as advice is received from Territorial Authorities. --- **About the pilot** The Toitū Te Whenua LINZ Addresssing Team developed routines and procedures to validate address sets sourced from Territorial Authorities against the AIMS address set. NZ Addresses (Pilot) is for test purposes only. The pilot dataset is not intended to be used in place of the AIMS suite of published addresses (such as NZ Street Address). The pilot will run for six months, until December 2021. Next steps will be informed by feedback received during the pilot. **Pilot feedback** We welcome your feedback on NZ Addresses (Pilot). The questions below could help guide feedback: 1. How useful is NZ Addresses (Pilot) to your application? 2. Have you identified any aspects of NZ Addresses (Pilot) that could be improved? 3. Have you encountered any addresses that you feel should not have been included as a missing address? 4. Any other feedback? Please direct feedback to: addresses@linz.govt.nz with the subject line ‘NZ Addresses Pilot Feedback’. --- **APIs and web services** This dataset is available via ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS REST services, as well as our standard APIs. [LDS APIs and OGC web services](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/105615/webservices/) [ArcGIS Online map services](https://basedatanz.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=2961f05e099049c2b81ea008976aacc8) [ArcGIS REST API](https://services7.arcgis.com/jI87xPT7G1AGV8Uo/arcgis/rest/services/) --- **Data fields** Please refer to the [Street Address Data Dictionary](https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/12627) for detailed metadata and information about the AIMS fields in this dataset. NOTE: there are a few differences between the existing AIMS dataset and this dataset. - New addresses identified are named ‘CADS’ (Comprehensive Addresses Data Store) addresses. - Some new fields include id (unique identifier for the dataset), source_dataset (the source of the record, e.g. CADS or AIMS), and address_lifecycle. - Field address_id is the unique identifier for an address in either AIMS or CADS addresses. - Field change_id is the unique identifier for the address version in either AIMS or CADS addresses. - Field address_class is same as address_type and includes throughfare and water. - Field road_section_id is not included in this dataset.

**Please read:** The AIMS: Addressable Object table is part of the [set of comprehensive AIMS Address tables](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/87). An addressable object is the object the address is assigned to. This could be a parcel, building or unit. Parcel will be used as the Addressable Object initially. Over time LINZ will more accurately implement the addressableobject, for example using rating unit and building information. The Addressable Object table contains information describing the type of addressable object and its life-cycle, as well as the organisation responsible for assigning the addressable object. More information relating to Addressable Object is available in the Address data dictionary. **In June 2014, LINZ moved the information from the Authoritative Streets and Places database (ASP) into Landonline and the ASP database is no longer maintained. ** ****************************************** This table is a lookup table identifying valid states for the unofficial field in the street and place tables. Records are set to Unofficial where it is known that the name is not recognised by the TA, or if a privately named road, or a place name missing necessary macrons. This table is part of the Authoritative Streets and Places (ASP) Database. For more information about the database including the data model see [here](http://www.linz.govt.nz/property-addressing/address-road-places-data). **Notes:** - This table contains a static unique identifier 'id' column that is not part of the original published ASP [database](http://www.linz.govt.nz/property-addressing/address-road-places-data). This column has been added to support incremental changesets on LDS. There is a direct relationship between this column and the original primary key on the 'code' column.
