Wellington 0.3m Rural Aerial Photos (2021)
Orthophotography within the Wellington Region taken in February 2021.
Imagery was captured for Greater Wellington Regional Council by AAM NZ Limited, 6 Ossian St, Napier, New Zealand.
Data comprises:
•1072 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5,000 tile layout
•Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the supplied tile layout shape file for specific details, naming conventions, etc.
Imagery supplied as 30cm pixel resolution (0.3m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ± 2.0 m @ 90% confidence level.

Project
AAM was engaged by Greater Wellington Regional Council to acquire aerial photography and create 0.30m GSD orthophotography in the Wellington Region. Total project area is ~9262 sq km.
Data Acquisition:
Acquisition Imagery over the project occurred between 13th of January, 2021 to 27th of January, 2021 from a fixed wing aircraft.
Ground Support:
GPS base station support was sourced from GeoNet CORS operating in and around
the Wellington Region. Ground control points were field surveyed by WSP. The existing 2017 ground control points surveyed by Sounds Surveying were also included.
