Purpose

Samples were obtained from 11 historic NIWA (National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research) cruises from 1963—2003. A total of 59 phosphorite nodules from 38 sites were analysed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry (ICPMS). Nodules range in size from 1—185mm, with size measured along the long axis of the specimen.
