  • Subsurface resistivity data is collected by the GNS by many different methods. These datasets are managed by the groups collecting and using the data, broadly based on acquisition method. The record is being used a master parent to group these resistivity dataset for ease of discovery

  • A database of geophysical logs derived from NZ boreholes (and derived velocity/time curves). It includes both digital and paper records

  • Magnetotellurics data are used to determine the subsurface electrical resistivity structure and image in 3-D the distribution of conductive regions within the Earth associated with e.g. geothermal fluids, magma, and shear zones beneath faults. Data have been collected across New Zealand (North and South islands), with large arrays measured the Taupo Volcanic Zone, Hikurangi Margin. • This collection of datasets comprise the 'Tectonic map of Te Riu-a-Māui / Zealandia' 1:8 500 000 data compilation. It contains the geospatial layers showing the main tectonic features and bathymetric environment of the region surrounding Te Riu-a-Māui / Zealandia.

  • Mineral resource trace features are represented with line features and have attributes describing the commodity available, host geological feature, type of working and lithology, if known. The data layer is part of the 'Geology of the Middlemarch area' 1:50 000 dataset covering a part of of East Otago around Middlemarch township.

  • This layer shows the interpreted surface locations of active plate and microplate boundaries, in and around Te Riu-a-Māui / Zealandia. The layer was newly-compiled for, and is part of, the 'Tectonic map of Te Riu-a-Māui / Zealandia' 1:8 500 000 dataset.

  • This data layer spatially represents depositional unconformities within the geological materials, divided by age, present at the surface interpreted from seismic data. The data structure complies with the GeoSciML 4.1 standard where relevant and uses the relevant CGI Controlled Vocabularies.

  • This layer shows the location of the interpreted subsurface extent of the subducted western and southern edges of the Hikurangi Plateau. The layer was newly-compiled for, and is part of, the 'Tectonic map of Te Riu-a-Māui / Zealandia' 1:8 500 000 dataset.

  • The extent and nature of geological folds are represented by line features and described in terms of the type, age and activity of the fold and the accuracy with which the fold axis is located. The data layer is part of the 'Geology of the Middlemarch area' 1:50 000 dataset covering a part of of East Otago around Middlemarch township.

  • This georeferenced raster image represents aeromagnetic data for the Middlemarch area depicting total magnetic intensity. The data is part of a geophysical survey undertaken for Glass Earth NZ Ltd. in 2007. The data layer is part of the 'Geology of the Middlemarch area' 1:50 000 dataset covering a part of East Otago around Middlemarch township.
