The NZ 1:2k Tile Index dataset provides a 1:2,000 scale index for aerial imagery and LiDAR datasets. This 1:2k tile index is part of a collection of indexes which are referenced to the [NZ 1:50k Tile Index](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/104687) dataset. Like the NZ 1:50k Tile Index, these larger scale indexes support mapping of NZ mainland and coastal areas up to 50m in depth. The dataset includes the following attributes: **index_tile_id**: Unique identifier for the NZ 1:2k Tile Index table. **sheet_code_id**: The corresponding sheet code of the NZ 1:50k Tile Index. **scale**: The map scale of the index tiles. **tile**: The combination of the row and column numbers of the index tiles. The NZ 50k Tile Index dataset provides a 1:50,000 scale base index for larger scale indexes used for aerial imagery and LiDAR datasets. This index is different from [Topo50 Map Sheets]( https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/50295) in that there are no overlapping index polygons in this dataset. This index also expands further into the sea to support future mapping in coastal areas and encompasses all offshore locations up to 50m in depth. The dataset includes a map sheet code consistent with those from Topo50 Map Sheets, and an attribute for each tile to show whether there is a corresponding Topo50 map sheet with matching location coverage. The Population data table is part of [NZ Suburbs and Localities Dataset](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/7364-nz-suburbs-and-localities-dataset/). This table contains the population estimate for each suburb and locality, provided by StatsNZ. --- [NZ Suburbs and Localities](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/113764-nz-suburbs-and-localities/) is an easy to use layer generated from the normalised NZ Suburbs and Localities Dataset. It describes the spatial extent and name of communities in urban areas (suburbs) and rural areas (localities) for navigation and location purposes. The suburb and locality boundaries cover New Zealand including North Island, South Island, Stewart Island/Rakiura, Chatham Islands, and nearby offshore islands. Each suburb and locality is assigned a name, major name, Territorial Authority and, if appropriate, additional in use names. A population estimate is provided for each suburb and locality by Stats NZ. For more information please refer to the NZ Suburbs and Localities Guidance documents: [Data Dictionary](https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/24593/) [Change Request Process](https://www.linz.govt.nz/products-services/data/types-linz-data/suburbs-and-localities-data) [Change Request Principles, Requirements and Rules](https://www.linz.govt.nz/products-services/data/types-linz-data/suburbs-and-localities-data) Changes to NZ Suburbs and Localities can be requested by emailing [addresses@linz.govt.nz](mailto:addresses@linz.govt.nz?subject=NZ Suburbs and Localities Change Request)

The NZ Imagery Survey Index dataset provides an index to all orthophoto index tiles found on the LINZ Data Service. Each record in the dataset provides both a geometry of the maximum extent of the orthophoto index, as well as all attributes found in each index tile. This dataset therefore provides information to assess orthophoto coverage and metadata across the entire country. Please refer to the [NZ Aerial Surveys Data Dictionary](https://nz-imagery-surveys.readthedocs.io/en/latest/introduction.html) for detailed metadata and information about this dataset. The imagery data referenced by this dataset is available on the [LINZ Data Service](https://data.linz.govt.nz/data/category/aerial-photos/).

The Additional Name data table is part of [NZ Suburbs and Localities Dataset](https://data.linz.govt.nz/set/7364-nz-suburbs-and-localities-dataset/). The intention of the additional name field is to capture any common, in use names for the suburb or locality. --- [NZ Suburbs and Localities](https://data.linz.govt.nz/layer/113764-nz-suburbs-and-localities/) is an easy to use layer generated from the normalised NZ Suburbs and Localities Dataset. The NZ Elevation Survey Index dataset provides an index to all LiDAR derived elevation datasets found on the LINZ Data Service. Each record in the dataset provides both a geometry of the extent of the elevation survey, as well as useful metadata attributes. The extents are derived from the maximum extent of DEM and DSM coverage and consist of full NZTopo50 1k tiles, even where a tile is only partially covered with data. These extents only provide a rough indication of corresponding point cloud coverage which can be quite different for some elevation surveys. Please refer to the [NZ Aerial Surveys Data Dictionary](https://nz-imagery-surveys.readthedocs.io/en/latest/introduction.html) for detailed metadata and information about this dataset. The elevation data referenced by this dataset is available on the [LINZ Data Service](https://data.linz.govt.nz/data/category/elevation/).
