LiDAR was captured for Hamilton City Council by Woolpert on 10 November 2023. These datasets were generated by Woolpert and their subcontractors. Data management and distribution is by Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand.

Data comprises:

- DEM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

- DSM: tif or asc tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

- Point cloud: las tiles in NZTM2000 projection, tiled into a 1:1,000 tile layout

Pulse density specification is at a minimum of 8 pulses/square metre.

Vertical Accuracy Specification is +/- 0.2m (95%)

Horizontal Accuracy Specification is +/- 1.0m (95%)

Vertical datum is NZVD2016.

Statement

Data Acquisition:

Airborne Laser Scanner (ALS) data was acquired from a fixed wing aircraft on 10 November 2023, using Woolpert's Leica Terrain Mapper.

Data Processing:

Classification of the point cloud follows the classification scheme below:

1 - Unclassified

2 - Ground

3 - Low Vegetation

4 - Medium Vegetation

5 - High Vegetation

6 - Buildings

7 - Low Noise

9 - Water

11 - Road Surface

17 - Bridge

18 - High Noise

Vertical Accuracy Validation ‐ Ground data in this volume has been compared to ~380 test points

obtained by field survey and assumed to be error‐free. The test points were distributed in 8 sites across the mapping area and located on clear ground. Comparison of the test points with elevations

interpolated from measured data resulted in:

 Mean difference: 0.003 m

 St. Deviation: 0.043 m

 Standard Error (RMS): 0.043 m

Horizontal Accuracy – the LiDAR point cloud was compared to survey data and found to fit well inposition. Expected accuracy is within the specified range.

Data classification has been manually checked and edited against available imagery.

The deliverables to LINZ were:

1m gridded bare earth digital elevation model (DEM)

1m gridded digital surface model (DSM)

Classified point cloud

All product deliverables supplied in terms of NZTM map projection and NZVD2016 vertical datum.
