Bay of Plenty 0.2m Rural Aerial Photos (2023-2024)
Orthophotography within the Bay of Plenty Region captured in the flying season of 2023-2024. Coverage encompasses the Bay of Plenty Region.
Imagery was captured for National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research by Woolpert NZ Ltd (formerly AAM NZ Ltd), 6 Ossian St, Napier, New Zealand.
Data comprises:
• 372 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:5000 tile layout.
• Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.
The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the tile index layer for specific details, naming conventions, etc.
Imagery supplied as 20cm pixel resolution (0.2m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±1 at 68% confidence level in clear flat areas.

The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited (NIWA) contracted Woolpert to capture imagery over storm damaged sites in Bay of Plenty. This was part of the North Island Weather Event (NIWE) project.
Capture was completed between 14th of December 2023 and 26th of January 2024.
This survey was planned to achieve imagery with a GSD of 20cm, and spatial accuracy +/- 1.0m. The primary product is RGBI orthorectified imagery.
Capture Constraints
Minimum 35 degrees sun angle. Coastal areas were captured within 1.5 hours of low tide.
