Tauranga City 0.1m Urban Aerial Photos (2022)

Orthophotography within the Tauranga Region captured in January 2022. Coverage encompasses Tauranga city.


Imagery was captured for BOPLASS Limited by AAM NZ Ltd, 6 Ossian St, Napier, New Zealand.


Data comprises:

• 3162 ortho-rectified RGB GeoTIFF images in NZTM projection, tiled into the LINZ Standard 1:500 tile layout

• Tile layout in NZTM projection containing relevant information.


The supplied imagery is in terms of New Zealand Transverse Mercator (NZTM) map projection. Please refer to the tile index layer for specific details, naming conventions, etc.


Imagery supplied as 10cm pixel resolution (0.1m GSD), 3-band (RGB) uncompressed GeoTIFF. The final spatial accuracy is ±0.3 at 90% confidence level in clear flat areas.

Statement

Project Aerial photography was captured over a single urban area in the Tauranga City totalling approximately 267 km2. The areas of capture are located in the Bay of Plenty region of the North Island. Data Acquisition The aerial photography for this project was captured within the 2021/21 flying season on the following date: 18 January 2022. Sun Angle Imagery captured with a sun angle greater than 45 degrees, within 2 hours of low tide, between 1:33 – 4:24.

Data Validation – Orthophoto Image

This data has not been field tested for accuracy. Comparison of the orthophoto with control points which were also used in the photo orientation process resulted in a horizontal standard error (RMS) of 0.137 m RMS, or 0.225 at 90% confidence.
