This map belongs to QMAP group of geological map compilations, that have been compiled on record sheets at 1:50 000, leading to publication at 250 000. The QMAP group Hard Copy compilation maps were mostly hand-drawn on to NZMS260-derived base sheets between 1997 and 2010 and elements from them digitised into a GIS. The Hard Copy Map has been scanned at 600DPI, down-sampled to 300DPI, and georeferenced. The digital images have been combined into ImageService dataset for dissemination and released as Web Map Service.
